Dr Sarju Ralhan, MS, MCh (CTVS) — Chief Cardiac Surgeon. Beating-heart bypass, valve repair and complex aortic surgery, delivered by one team with one standard.
10 AM – 5 PM · please book at least one week in advance
Off-pump coronary artery bypass — special interest in total arterial revascularisation using both internal mammary arteries.
Mitral, aortic and tricuspid surgery with a repair-first philosophy — mechanical and tissue prostheses, ring annuloplasty.
Root, ascending, arch, descending and thoraco-abdominal repair — including Bentall procedures and endovascular (EVAR) approaches.
Reoperations, acute aortic dissection and connective-tissue disease — with EuroSCORE II risk assessment on every patient.
Transit-time flow measurement (TTFM) on every graft — quality confirmed before the chest is closed.
Protocol-driven recovery and pain management — every patient tracked in a digital registry from admission onward.
More than 14,000 coronary bypass operations over three decades — the judgement that only volume builds.
Surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists and cardiac nurses review each patient together — you are treated by a unit, not an individual.
Every graft flow-tested in theatre, every patient followed in a digital registry, and research published in international journals.
Dr Sarju Ralhan is the Chief Cardiac Surgeon at Hero DMC Heart Institute, Ludhiana — one of North India's leading dedicated cardiac centres. He specialises in the surgical treatment of coronary artery disease and diseases of the aorta.
He has performed more than 14,000 coronary artery bypass operations, with a special interest in beating-heart surgery and total arterial revascularisation, and is highly experienced in complex aortic repair — including Marfan syndrome and emergency surgery for acute aortic dissection.
"Cardiac surgery is a team sport — forty professionals stand behind every patient."
His academic work spans over sixty publications and presentations — from off-pump technique and ECMO support to genetics collaborations published in Nature Genetics and Nature Communications. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons.
Every operation brings a full dedicated unit to the patient's bedside — surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists and specialist cardiac nurses working to a single protocol.
